Namaste! My name is Denise "Anasuya" French, I am the daughter of Deunice, and I am the mother of Natacha. I am so grateful to be able to bring this opportunity of community to our Shala in South Florida, where we live caring for my mother, now with Alzheimer’s. I arrived to this Earth through a vaginal hospital delivery. Even though it was a non-medicalized birth, my mother endured vaginal trauma by excessive manipulation, and physical and verbal obstetric violence. Natacha’s birth was via the natural squatting Malasana position, exactly like the childbirth practice by indigenous mothers in the Amazon.
